One of Australia's best kept dive secrets, Montague Island offers a diverse range of dive locations depending on diver ability, weather conditions and the time of year.
The Australian fur seal colony on the northern end of the island is renowned as one of Australia's safest seal diving sites. Don't miss the exhilaration of diving, or snorkelling if you have no dive ticket with a bunch of playful seals. The warmer summer currents bring the ever-popular, harmless grey nurse sharks to dive with as well as a mass of tropical fish, pelagics and a range of species not normally seen so far south like turtles, manta and sunfish.
Not far from Montague Island is the wreck of the "Lady Darling", sunk in the late 1800's. Found in 1996 the wreck is well worth a look for keen photographers.
Narooma Charters has two fully licensed purpose built dive vessels complete with sit down dive racks, twin entry/exit ladders, oxygen or board and air fills. Book a few nights at Amooran, giving you more chance of getting a dive in as the trips are weather dependent.
- 3 Nights accommodation in a fully refurbished room at Amooran
- Continental breakfast each morning
- Boat trip to Montague Island with double or single dive (providing own gear) or snorkel (snorkelling gear provided if necessary) - minimum 2 divers with Montague Island Charter or 8 divers for specific dive charter.
